In this hands-on robotics course, students will explore the fundamentals of robotics, programming, and teamwork by building and programming a soccer-playing robot car using Maqueen and micro:bit. Each group will assemble a robot car equipped with a dozer blade designed to push a ball into a goal.

Learning Objectives:

  • Equip students with the ability to assemble and program the Maqueen
  • Encourage students to apply problem-solving strategies and critical thinking
  • Develop students' teamwork and communication skills through collaborative activities and challenges

Course Outline:

  • Introduction To Maqueen | Introduction on how to assemble and use Maqueen
  • Skills design and programming | Understand the program behind football bot
  • Calibration and Competition | Play in Football competition to test out the programmed robot and calibrate the robot through Trial and Error

Software Requirements:

  • micro:bit app (iPad)
  • updated browser (Notebook/Desktop)

  • AAA Battery x 5

  • Maqueen Mechanic push

  • Micro USB cable (for computer to micro:bit connection)
