Use the UnaGPT Question Tool
The Question Tool allows teachers to generate customised practice and assessment questions automatically using AI. Original questions can be created from a broad topic, or a reference question can be supplied so that tailored variants are generated from it.
- Click Question Tool in the left menu, under UnaGPT.
- When the menu is collapsed, click the question mark icon.

Open the Generate tab to set the criteria and prompt the AI agents.
- Student level: select the target academic level from the drop-down (Lower primary, Upper primary, Lower secondary, Upper secondary).

- Question language: select the language of the generated questions (English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese).

- 1 — Subject and Topic: enter the subject and the specific topic.
- 2 — Instructions (maximum 300 words): provide specific guidance or constraints for the AI.
- 1 — Tick Include a reference question to base the generated questions on an existing question structure. The reference question fields open below the checkbox.

- Answer Content Type: General, Formula / Calculation, or Code.
- Answer Language: English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese.
- Answer Structure: Text Only, Image Only, “Text, Image”, “Image, Text”, or “Text, Image, Text”.
- Output Language: the language of the AI feedback and instructions (English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese).
- Answer Word Limit (optional): minimum and maximum word counts for student responses.
- Analysis Options: Enable with Writing Techniques includes stylistic suggestions, examples and context analysis; Hide Correction from student keeps the AI grading feedback visible to teachers only.

Question Input:
- 1 — Click OCR (Markdown) to convert an uploaded image into text.
- 2 — Or type or paste the reference question directly into the text field.

Under AI Marking Settings, set the following:
- Full Score: the maximum obtainable score.
- Marking Scheme: enter the guidelines, or click Load a Template to select a preset.
- Penalty Scheme (optional): the criteria for mark deductions.
- Sample Answer (optional): an ideal response, used to calibrate the AI.

Selecting Load a Template opens the list of preset marking schemes.

- Once the settings are complete, click Generate questions.

Two independent AI agents, Agent A and Agent B, process the prompt simultaneously and generate alternative question variants. Each generated result displays the complete question setup, the AI marking settings, the marking scheme and the token usage.

- Export Question: downloads an XML file that can be imported directly into a Teaching Session or an Activity.

- 1 — Review this question: imports the selected question into the Review tab for further refinement.
- 2 — Test in Playground: opens the question in the UnaGPT Playground to test AI grading performance and student response handling.

Review and Amend Questions
Open the Review tab to evaluate, test and refine a question independently, with AI assistance.
- Input the question: enter or paste a question manually, or click Import Question to load a saved question or one sent from the Generate tab.
- Configure the settings: set the AI Settings and the Question Settings, including the answer content type, the marking schemes and the analysis options.

- Click Review question, at the foot of the form.

- Agent evaluation: Agent A and Agent B review the question independently, providing general comments, constructive feedback and structural suggestions.
- Follow-up questions: type follow-up instructions of up to 300 words in the box.
- 1 — Choose the recipient: both agents, Agent A only, or Agent B only.
- 2 — Click Send.

Up to eight follow-up messages can be exchanged with each agent during a review session.
Before the final amended version is generated, each agent analyses the entire discussion history, including all follow-up exchanges and the comments made by both agents.
- Enter the final guidelines in the Optional amendment instructions box (maximum 300 words).
- Click Amend question. This concludes the current review session.

The agents produce the amended questions, with the option to start a new review or to test the question directly in the Playground.
